About Us!

We are the Octagon Club of Cerritos High School. We do plenty of events that consist of any basic service project to the very broad and outgoing events such as Beach Clean-ups, pancake breakfasts, track meets, Cherry Blossom Festival, Haunted Houses, you name it.Octagon club provides opportunities for members to participate in community service activities, develop character and leadership abilities and prepare for responsible roles in society.

• What is Octagon Club?

           Under the Optimist International Club, Octagon is a community service club for high school students.  There are other Octagon Clubs across the nation, doing individual events and helping Optimist International, especially in helping to raise extra money for the Childhood Cancer Campaign.

• What does the "octagon" represent?

           The "octagon" represents the stop sign, to say that we should stop to help someone else.  Whether we are preparing breakfast for the softball team or collecting food for a needy family or even taking individual action, such as picking up a book someone dropped, we should all take time out of our lives to help another.

• When is the deadline for turning in applications?

            The deadline for turning in club application in order to be recognized NATIONALLY by our mother club, Optimist International, is October. However, Octagon Club will continue to accept applications for the rest of the year! If you would like to sign up, here is the link to the application!
